You really don't need to read all of this!

This is me rambling and thinking out loud, me showing how incapable I am at making decisions, me trying to be funny and failing and generating laughs just from my ramblingness...beware of sudden subject changes...I write as I think...

"Through the mist, through the woods, through the darkness and the shadows..."

I love that part...his voice is so low and...EVIL!!! (Or as evil as he can be in a Disney movie.) Yes, I'm listening to Beauty and the Beast!! This will be a short post (I hope)...

a) Yesterday was Ashley's birthday!!

b) Watched Rent with Laurel, Katie and Jess at Laurel's.

c) Laurel gave me more of her old tank tops which aren't long enough for her.

d) I went to graduation yesterday: wierd going back into that world...saw everyone I wanted to...picked up Sarah's plants. Kate Aid (her roommate) got Suma Cum Laude (announced Sat. at Ivy Day)!!!!! I hopefully got some good photos of Kate Aid with the Parsons banner and fellow Parsons Seniors as they marched in and down the stairs to Pomp and Circomstance. I said hi to Anne Jenson and Caitlin Moore who were there with their family since Sue Jenson was graduating.

e) I updated Facebook and took lots of stuff off my favorites becauase I felt like it.

f) I trimmed my hair so now it isn't really long, it's just long. ( 5 inches) But it seems REALLY different to me! I can now pin it up in two crossing braids without it sitting on my neck!!!

g) I'm enjoying the old wrap skirt of my mom's that she gave me. (She doesn't like wrap skirts.)

h) I'm wishing SRP (Saxton's River Playhouse) were open because I REALLy feel like I haven't been on stage in a while and I really want to be in the chorus of SOMETHING...I don't really want a big part, I just want to be in a show again.

i) I've been singing a lot. (since I refuse to sing in front of people who I'm not VERY close to and don't like to really bother people and I didn't sing at school when not at the K. or in chorus) Anyway...I don't shut up when I'm home. I think I'd die without music and without being able to sing. I feel so shut up and enclosed occationally at school. But now I'm home and "The hills are alive with the sound of music."

j) I still have a huge pile of clothes in the middle of my room. Most everything else has been put away, and the clothing is clean, I just have to go through it all.

k) I've read five novels since I've been home. One was The DaVinci Code, the other four were short soft cover books (300 to 400 pages) , easy, "fluffy" books for teens by Tamora Pierce.

l) I've gotten into one of my UMass classes, the Comp. Lit. one, for next semester!!!

Napoleon

We don't have a picture, but my Toyota Camerie wagon was filled to the roof so that my mom had no rear visibility. She arrived at Smith around 5pm and we left around 10pm.

I have not done much today...I had Annie's Microwavable Mac & Cheese for Breakfast and lunch and sat in my room on my laptop (yay for wireless...I hope they put internet connections in the livingroom when they renivate Parsons, although it is nice to be able to get away from the internet and so get work done...)

I can't find anything, plus we've only unpacked some of the car...I found my shower stuff just now and some clothing...I have yet to find my deoderant...but I will not be fazed....I WILL take a shower!!! I know I have been home before, but I still keep not being sure about where some things are in the kitchen. (Several years ago, probably more than I think, we switched the bowls and the cups, or something....maybe it got better for a while...and I have had to think carefully ever since about which cabinet to open...and it has ony gotten worse with going away to college. ) There was something else too which confused me. I also thought at some point last night that I was still at school, in my school bed.

We're going to switch the beds, which my parents have been meaning to do eventually ever since I was born, and I'll get the bigger, better Blue Room bed!!!!

I never remember that I miss fuzzy things until I see a pretty neighborhood cat occationally, or come home and see my cats...but...Yay for cats!!!! They purr and jump into your lap when you're eating and try to knock your food out of your hand and meow and get fur on your bed but it's comforting to go to bed with a purring ball of fuzz on your toes!!!

Aaahhh

OK...I've been studying for this Latin test without really having a lot sink in, I think. I'd planned on taking it this afternoon, but am putting it off. I have this take home to finish but I don't really want to... I can't decided what to do when!!! Both things are tugging at me.

On a good note Anya came over from Mt. Holyoke and ate lunch with me and studied at Parsons for a little while.

Soooo I figure I will get everything in on time...I'd just avoided stress until now and now that I have to rush I'm irritable. I'm spoiled...I've been getting 9 hours of sleep a night!!!

This may well be my last post before I go home...I just had to get away from Latin...which I love, but the more I study the more I realize how much I should know already...and this is my last oppertunity to really try. I just realized that I could ahve everything memorized, but I don't....and it's too late now...but too late I'm having the urge to have higher expectaions for myself.

Should I just get Anthro. done and do more Latin later? Will it make me feel better? Studying and essay writting can go on forever.

I'm so tiered.

I just remembered that I have a banana and am eating it and feel better now!!

The "F" Word

No, not THAT..."Finals"...I've got two under my belt and two to go...French was OK, my Jewish Studies final wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be....not that I did well...plus, I got a B on my last essay for him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to study for and take my Latin final and finnish and turn in my Anthro. take-home. Only two more nights in my room. I need to try to sell back some books!!! No more French, no more Jewish Studies!!! Onward to Greek...unless I drop the class and decide I hate it. But Greek is pretty, though it looks complicated. I need to work now....I just felt a lack of blogging in my life...I feel like I'm not saying something important...G'night and good luck!!!

Senior Banquet

Wow...the first years had to serve the seniors...make fun of them in a skit...yeah...it was fun...everyone loved my rendition of Sarah Symonds. We worked hard and luckily the seniors enjoyed our skit...the point of senior banquet is to get drunk, and drink they did...(then some of them went off to go skinny dipping in the pond, though others remembered that it has chemicals and icky things in it and didn't go in...I'm told...I didn't accompany them...though other sober people did, luckily...) But, anyway, where was I...Senior Wills...we had 30 seniors, which is half of our house...it was one side of the room willing to the other half. People gave away clothings, books, toys, stuffed animals, a stereo, a TV, rugs, lamps....etc. I got a Ballerina Statue for Kate Aid (Fourth Floor Kate, or Ballerina Kate) which I always look at when I'm in her room...she didn't know this, though, she just thought I'd like it!! It's from our outings to see dance preformances...like The Nutcracker!! Leah and I got Sarah P's plants(Kate's partner in crime on the fourth floor)...she thought we'd divide them up and love them well!!! I got an amazing Geneology of Greek Myths that is an accordian folded book from Carolyn D. who is also a Classics person. Evadne gave me two books for Classics in translation, Sarah Symonds gave me her Senior Hat (there's a day when they wear silly hats and go hear speeches and music and I watched her make a crown of flowers for it...flowers she found in one of the Parsons craft cupboards from last years Senior Banquet...so she gave me the crown and I promised to wear it when I'm a senior. It's very pretty and Leah-ish. Alana says she has something for me maybe. And Mina gave me her lace curtians...she thought of the first years I'd appreciate them the most...someone, maybe Kate Yohay said something about me wanting to be a princess. So I didn't do too badly. It is fun to have people think of you, but it was also fun listening to the stories behind things, especially the objects which have been willed down through the house for many years, or are willed with conditions of them staying in the house. Did I say before that I definitly get Leah's carpet for next year?!!!!

It's a nice day. I went to bed at 3am...I was carrying my skript I had to memorize for French because we acted scenes for the oral part of our finals all around last night as I followed drunk Seniors around for amusment. I hung out and got some memorized...I still didn't completely have it, but I wouldn't have studied that much , I don't think, had I not been hanging out too. We played Have You Ever and Truth or Dare (which I probably hadn't played in about 6 years). It was lots of fun...I think I need to go to more parties, or we need to have more...or not...it's the end of the year and next year I'll need to not be there when my first years are drinking or I could get into trouble. We might go on the pond again..or just sit outside..no tea today...I could do work (I'm definitly going to do my post for my Jewish Studies class which is due at 5pm) ...I need to go to the K. and help cook.

Why do I write sooo much...it takes soo long. But I'm summerizing...nbnut there's so much to say...anyway...have a good day!!! And see you soon!!! Good luck on everything, everyone!!!

The End is in Sight

Hillel Senior Banquet was last night... this afternoon we had our end of year Chorus party...tomorrow night is Parsons House Senior Banquet ... in our house the First Years put on a skit, serve the Seniors and the Seniors (and everyone else) gets drunk. Homework needs to happen tonight. (Oh, and Seniors will underclasswomen stuff....like rugs, books, clothing, anything they don't want to ship home.) I'm at the point when I'm morning the fact that people are leaving and I'll never live with them all together like this again, I'm mourning that Chorus is over, I wish I were home with my friends, yet I don't want this school year to end...yet now that the end is in sight (which I cannnnnnnot believe) I really don't want to do any more work, even in Latin (it's sooo hard, and we have to translate so much and it takes forever, and it would be fun, but I have no patience and can't sit still...) I can't wait to go home and go running, something I miss and don't have time for. if I ran maybe I'd be tiered and stop bouncing and be able to sit still for long periods of time. (Yay for working with children over the summer and not being able to sit still!) So I feel very much like I'm in a "liminal" phase. (Is that a form of the word "liminality"?) (A word we used all semester in "Rites of Passage" and was introduced in Anthro.) I asume we all have a million different emotions tugging us in a million different directions, but if we stop to attend to them all we will have no time to keep ourselves afloat with work, plus I've found that if I think too much I start to drown.

Today I'm upset because Chorus is over and I love Deanna. I wish I'd found more time and reasons to go bug my wonderful conductor in her office because hanging out with her is fun!!! We had our party at her house and Jennie, Gabriel, Liz (Chorus Prez.) and I ended up staying after others had left and we had tea and talked to Deanna and Sarah, our accompaniest...then Deanna drove us home. (We'd walked over as a group earlier in the afternoon.) Deanna was getting our opinions on things for next year and we were discussing music choices and stuff. I felt like I was Edmund in The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe. We were in the Beavers' lodge drinking tea and relaxing, and here I was, but I really belonged to the enemy. You see, I'm in Glee Club next year. I've abandoned Deanna. I switched because Kate and others were in Glee and I knew I'd expect Chorus to be the same, and it wouldn't be, so if I changed I'd expect change and be alright. I also knew I'd feel like I was missing out by not trying out for hte "better" group. But my two Sop I. buddies aren't in it and Glee Club isn't a "better" group. Chorus is amazing. I'll miss having D. as my conductor...Anyway...I wonder if I made a mistake...many others who auditioned and are now in Glee are asking themselves the same thing. I'll have to go bother D. in my spare time. But...ah...plus I won't have to deal with First Years...and I'm a HONS, so I'll be dealing with them a lot. But, I just need to know that my decisions have been made, and I need to chill out, get through the last two days of classes (four class periods), get through finals, and get home.
