Halloween socks
I always thought that Shabbat was a pain, a restriction...I didn't need it...but here in my busy college life I really need Shabbat...it is something to look forward to during the week. It is a nearby place with good food and friends...it is a time to do something different from how I do things the rest of the week. It is a safe, homey place and time...it makes me happy....it involves a lot of singing and harmonies...it's where I belong and something I missed out on for the first ninteen years of my life...I have finnally found my own kind...to be around young womwn who know more about my religion than I do? That's something...I don't have to explain anything...though we love to compair sinagogs!!!
Hillel is my favorite part of Smith College.
By the way, I only get packages when I decide to check my mail on Sunday, not Saturday, so I won;t get to check it till tuesday now, probably. I also got a small package from Peggy....halloween socks!!!
Ramadan @ The K
I'm tiered, and I have home work, and studing to do...and I need food...I've only had two meals and a snack.
Love Is Music!
My day...the uninteresting part: Livie woke me at 12pm so I could go eat brunch. (I went to bed at 3am becuase I wasn't tiered when I came back from the K and so I went up to the fourth floor and talked with Sarah for over two hours. (She's a senior and so we had some good important things to discuss.) ) I then did home work. After supper I:
I went to Havdala finally! (The opposite of Shabbat services...the end of Shabbat service.) It was wonderful. Then we all went to Abby's room and had an illegal party (Too many people in one place.) we sang and she sometimes played guitar...songs from camp and from "Rise Up Singing"- so gospel, peace , traditional and drinking songs...though many of us there are the non drinking types...that's why we weren't drinking. Lauren from my house stopped by on her way to a crew party...she had on ears...I think later public safety broke up that party. I must have been the only first year there..Molly would have been but her geology class went to Cape Cod for the weekend. Way to go...wait till it gets cold!
My roommate, by the way, has a bottle of something in her refridgerator. ( I wasn't peaking, I was getting the piece of pizza I stole from the dinninghall several days ago, to eat.) Not stole-We're allowed to take food out...It just sounds cool to say that...exaggeration...
There was a three car accident right across from My crosswalk that we saw on our way to Abby's. No one was hurt, it happened slowly-ish. One car was dented, another smoking. We saw it happen.
I have been happy and depressed on and off today, as I usually am on weekends...I got tears down my cheeks at the K becuase the service was so pretty...and so were our discussions. This girl who transfered to Brown from Smith and this guy came to visit, independedly of eachother, and they were there tonight again...she's a future rabbi...like this other girl...Ruchy, who is in Israel this semmester and who the Hillel really misses...this Brown girl is very energetic and knowlegable and friendly and it would be nice if she could be still at Smith.
The good thing about Hillel is that I needed a hug so- I crawled into Dane's lap and she put her arms around me and held me tight!!! I am just so thankful right now that I came to Smith and I am in awe of the community I have so easily found a place in, it's beyond my wildest dreams...there is a place for everyone!
I like going out and being with other people instead of sitting around in my own house missing you guys terribly...I love you all so much and Thanksgiving seems soooooo far away. Hillel will teach me to better be the kind of friend to you girls(and guy) that I want to be.
Sigh. On a lighter note-whipped cream-(I found that pun on a re-read of this...I feel into it...didn't mean to say that!!!! Cool!!) - they had waffle irons at brunch so you could do it yourself!! I didn't, but I did put whipped (It's NOT cream, whatever it is...though it is buttery and wonderful!!!!!) in my hot chocolate.
Part of K discussion....what will it be like when the Messiah comes...supposidly it will be like Shabbat all the time...Things we said:
No need for food, so no hunger (though another girl said it would be horrible to not be able to eat food, food is wonderful!!)
No stress-we'd always feel the way we do at the beginning of the weekend
I said: we'd all think about others before ourselves...which would work because everyone would be worrying about us so we wouldn't need to worry about ourselves
One person said: we'd have death, but we would understand it and it would not be tramatic
(I should encourage people to read Many Waters by Madeline L'Engle. I love that book soooooooooooooooooooooo much, and it fits my mood-but I don't think I brought it with me. )
Anyway...we were discussing places where things meet...Sabbath, end of Sabbath, dawn, chocolate vanilla twists!!!
I am going to be such a better person from having been with these girls, in such an empowering, yet loving environment.
Oh..."Can you feel the love to night..."
I had to bring this blog to a lighter note!!!
Maybe I'll go to bed...what time is it? My dad's computer has a different time, I think, becuase I got an e-mail from him. What way are the clocks going? My clock is in the window, so we'll see if it resets itself based on the satilites.
Good night...by the way, my dad tried to repeat my good night thing....(which I learned from my mom) in an e-mail but go it wrong, I guess only I would be amused in an I love him kind of way, becuase it's characterisic of him to mix something up like that. But what he said was apprecieted!!
Alors, je regrete que j'ai deja ecrit beacoup, or does beacoup go before the past participle...come on Leah, this is what you took notes on today!!!
Someon esaid the other day that she felt that the native speakers use more english in the classroom than the native english speakers...in French, or al languages.
We translated O tempora! O mores! (Cicero) the other day....
"Quid facis, Catilina? Quid cogitas? Sentimus magna vitia insidiasque tuas. O tempora! O mores! Senatus haeac intellegit, consul videt. Hic tamen vivit. Vivit? ...."and it continues for a while...
"What are you doing, Catiline? What are you thinking? We experience you great crimes and treacheries. Oh the times! Oh the morals! The senate understands these things, the consul sees them. However, this man lives. Lives? "....
It's amazing!!!!
So now that I have been on blogger for an hour, I think I'll go to bed.
Good night, sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite. Wake up bright, in the morning light, to do what's right, with all your might!
It's 1:11am people-go to bed-party time is over! Humph!!
Now I really will try to go to bed!!!!
G'night.

French Class
There is a Halloween party at Hampshire that everyone is talking about...I'm sure it will be scary-this is Hampshire that we are talking about. You need connections to go. I know people who are going...I could probably get in somehow. But I on;y have my tail and ears, not a fancey costume, plus I'm tiered and looking forward to going to bed early...
We also are having a pep rally, bon fire, food kind of thing tonight...this is a first for my school...but It's at seven, when Shabbat dinner is...I feel like it would be fun to go to this one of a kind event, but I'd prefer to be with friends...and at the Shabbat dinner and services there will be people who love me...plus they need people to go becuase of all the confliting events pulling epole away...
So I can't decide.
Before, and during part of tea I joined some housemates in the TV room to watch Ten Things I Hate About You...which I'd never seen before, yet everyone else had so they kept quoting before the movie sqid the same lines and some times they talked and I missed a little bit. We were watching it becuase one girl broke up with her girlfriend and needed cheering up. The movie was unbelievable in places...but sooo cute, especially seeing it after not being in high scholl anymore.
I'm soooo tiered.
Bed time...I had lunch during the movie....at around two thirty or three. (I skipped it to work in the computer lab, which was good...I was able to print in color!!!!!!)
Maybe I'll say more later...
Have a good night...Shabbat Shalom!

My Ears
I'm glad it's taken me until now to take a shower!!
Blah
I didn't have breakfast, I wore my PJs all day, I was stressed all day, except during ballet....but then I was physically sore all day and now. I also really need to take a shower (That's my next stop.) But chorus was held in the chaple, near my house, becuase of a concert at Sage!! So I ended the day close to home. I was comfy all day in my PJs. It's nice and cold and fall-y / wintery. Reading everyone elses blogs and comments is making me happy right now. As much as today sucked, it wasn't that bad...I managed to get through a peice at a time...and I wasn't emotionally , uncontrolably depressed and unhappy today....I was unhappy in an intellectual, I can control it, it's not my barest human emotion kind of way.
I finnaly found a reason to take more than just fruit out of the dinning hall...I actually got out a bag and got a slice of pizza becuase I was hungery, but tiered of eating.
Though I have my French presentaion on Friday I'm not worried, now most of the research is done, I can't imagine I'll do that horrible. Becuase wed. are hard it feels like a friday!!! Now things should be easy for the rest of the week..unless we have a pop wuiz in Latin, or something.
Went to the presentation of the major for Classics!!!!!!!!! Yes, I so want to be a classic major, Latin makes me happy!!!!! It's also a small departmetn and plus they say there is a shortage of Latin teachers so we'd be guarenteed jobs, and you many times can go to grad school for free!! Talking about that I realized that my teachers are not ordinary anymore...not like Miss Huntoon is ordinary....but these are people I can't necessarily ever be like, you can joke with them like regular people, though, though they all have Doctorate degrees and things. I son't want to just be a Classical Studies Majoe, I want the challenge and title and wellroundedness of doing Classics, the oldfasioned way...you take everything for your major in those languages. It is like French, we learn culture through readings in the French language...bring a classics major is like double majoring in two languages...becuase you need to know Greek and Latin...I guess I can learn Ancient Hebrew in Graduate school and become a more wellrounded expert on Mediterranian Ancient Civilizations in general. Become fluent in hyrogliphics? No, Egypt is over done, I'm not that interested in it actually, though I'm sure I could be made so...I don't know a lot...there are so many far apart time periods too in that history.
One of my proffessors studied the Classics in France...but I think that would be over my head, even in two years...to learn Greek and Latin IN FRENCE? WHAT?!!??! So I don't know what languaes to take, if I want to go abroad...and to England, France, Rome, Greece....So I don;t know what languages I'll take...Latin is a full year course, as is Greek, so Greek has to wait till next year...though I probably should have stated this year I'm thinking, if it's my major. Maybe then I shouldn't go abroad. (Not that my parents want me abroad anyway!!!)
I'm writting in Purple because Purple makes me happy and I suspect that it is now my favorite color!!
I'm wearing Laurel's earrings right now, they are pretty, they make me happy!!
Should we start a Thanksgiving count down, how long till we see eachother?
Will now do more private rant in writting notebook...or, actually, that's all I have to say, no need for writting notebook...tear.
Oh, I have so many story ideas, and no time to write them in!!! Another tear.
I'm happy that Myles, at least, finds me amusing. It's nice to have a funny person think that you to are funny...not that most people would say that about me if asked what I am...but everyone should be able to be funny occationally, at least appreciate other people's funniness...i'm a firm believer in laughter.
oh, yeah...have I said that unfortuanatly Ashley is going to look at museums in NY when I go to see museums in Boston, so we won't get to see eachother.
Wow, cool...when you scroll really fast in type of this color it turns more pinkish!!!!!!!!!!! I keep reading it fast and I keep thinking it says "way cool" not "wow cool".
The other day (Oct 23) I wrote..."I think my spirit is hungry. It has been fasting. My food is moonlight and trees, stars and mountains, flowing water and rain, song and dance, music and lightning, friends and kisses, love and life, things green and living...an autemn without sky is no autemn at all...my spirit has not read for food, nor has it written..." And of course there aren't any boys...which is good, otherwise I'd be really distracted and intimidated!!
Thanks for bothering to read this if that is, in fact, what you did! :)
Love you all...G'night.
Sweet Dreams, and Clear Skies!

Today
Laurel came!!!!!!!!!!
I have five more guest meals on my card. I thought I started with more, I don't know how many i used up with my parents.
Went to services...we didn't have a minion...we had nine adults and one baby. Sigh.
Yummy food....though I blaime French for my tummy ach which kept coming and going.
After at about ten or ten thirty I walked home with Molly....we stood around talking, then I saw her house, then she came to mine (And after having Laurel at tea everyine thought she was another Leah friend from another school.) and we had the livingroom to ourselves....we sat around talking...she left at about a little after two in the morning. At the K was someone who looked familiar...it was Gace Harris's older sister, who I guess, goes to smith. We didn't know eachother's names but we could kindof place eachother! I didn't get a chance to tell her that my memory of her is as the lead in SRP's production of A Secret Garden.
It was cold last night...we could see our breath...
...the air was cold and pure...
...it smelled like winter...
...we could see the stars...
Molly is taking an astronomy class, so we were discussing stars a little.
Talbot, Molly's house, has a stuffed Moose on thier stairs down to thier old dinningroom. There other heads were stolen by another house a little while ago. Molly has a huge room. Well, you always hera of people would got lucky and got huge rooms!!
I just missed breakfast becuase I decided to get this out of the way now...I woke up at twelve, stayed in bed for a while.
I actually walked into my room, talking to Molly to show her my books, and turned on the light before I realized that Livie was already in bed.
Now I 'm sad because I was looking forward to breakfast and missed it...but Livie brought me back a muffin becuase I was sleeping!!! (I didn't realize I'd been writing for so long until it was too late...and I didn't want to stress myself by racing to Cutter-Z. )
I'll check my mail now, and grab a yogert at the campus center cafe. And wake up some more...I stayed up last yesterday because I hadn't talked so someone like that for a while...and I need to make more friends!!
This muffin is sooooo good...it's honey, or something tasting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There isn't any fruit in it I don't think.
Plus we both decided that we weren't tiered and it was Shabbat so we should do something special!
So...at one-thirty, pm, I am going to start my day!!!!!
I wish I had a poetry book here with me at school.
I want to take a book home one Shabbat...I almost did, then decided I wouldn't have time...I've been wanting for a while to copy some Jewish religious words down so I can read them occationally. They are so pretty but I used to only see them once a year on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. By the way, the Sukkah is disapointing.
G'morning!
Wake up bright in the morning light to do what's right with all your might!!

Before I forget...
I thought there were more than that...five?
Been meaning to say this for a while.
Also...Livie's teacher broke one of my pegs, then the next time a string, so boh violins are now at homw for repairs and I keep hiding my shoulder rest from her so that her bad luck with my violins does not continue!!! (He teacher turned down his nose at my violins and bows, but he loves the shoulder rest.
Anothe intersting thing about me...my right earlobe is swollen from achne and so it hurts..I sleep on my left side...and I don't dare change my earrings...dad had to out them back in last weekend becuase it was swollen and I couldn't get it to go in on my right ear.
You know what's really cool? The little joy stick option on my lap top functions like the touch pad in that if you tap it it clicks on things!!!
Nite!

Class of 2009!
There are 631 students who were selected from a pool of 3, 408 applicants. Percentage admitted was 48%. (A record number of applicants, of course.)
It's the most racially diverse class ever.
124 are the first to go to college in thier families.
30% identifies as a student of color.
Of total student body there are 14 % Asian American, 8 % Latina, 7 % African American 1 % Native American.
International students are 8% of the class.
We hav etree sets of identical twins.
I got my class photo today!!!!!!!I'm in the first row center!!!!! It's not my best picture, but it will do....it's a very long picture, but it's in focus...you can tell who everyone is!!!!!!
I went to bed at three last night/this morning!!!!
Stupid French Paper.
Missed breakfast, was late to Ballet, had to still correct French quizes..which she never collected anyway...forgot to go to chorus last night becuase I hadn't had it in two weeks...but no on esaid anything, and I didn't bring it up!!...almost forgot to print French essay...But I was happy too....I'm slowely, but surely getting stuff done!!!!!!But my Ballet teacher loved my Ballet Journel...we handed them in the other day.
Me's happy right now.
I while listening to Sarah and Carolyn and a friend from outside the house do thier Lingustics HW I decided that maybe I should be a lingustics major...becuase it is language, it's formation ect. that I love...as well as the words them selves and understanding them....
Must find out what that beautiful peice of music is that Julius plays for us in Ballet class. (He;s the accompaniest.)
G'night,
pleasant dreams...

Yippeeeee
Livie and I on our beds.
Part of the TV room.
The livingroom.
Me on the front stairs up to the first floor.
Now that that is done I need to get back to work!!

I like chocolate!
For some reason the one way explains things better than the other...maybe because moods seem like something you can change, something other people notice, instead of being simply what you are, what you feel...and since it is my view of things, not someone else's view of me I speak the way I do...anyway...
There are over twenty seniors in my house, out of about sixty students..that's why I know so many, they make up 1/3 of the house...there are only twelve of my year, I think.
Spent much time in library for the first time...as I told Myles, I think, : you library people would be proud of me that I finnally met the books and the catelog...it's complex...our books are in the same catelog as the books at Mt. Holyoke, Hampshire, and Amherst, and there is a sepperate catolog for U Mass. We also have at least five libraries just at my school..ayou have to check where the books are because maybe you won't want to go all the way to Amherst.
I had fun being able to look up books from my computer in my room and then going to the library.
I had to go to the forth, and top floor, then underground to the lowerst floor, B.
My library is crazy...I was given a map at the refrence desk so I would be able to find my way around...most people never fully learn thier way around!!
Got done several things recently...last night and today...I look forward to continueing to do my work...I'm so thankful to have time that I really want to do my work!!!!
On that note...I'll get to it!
P.S. i forgot to title this entry, and when, a second after I'd entered it, I went back I had in the meantime put part of a kit kat bar in my mouth...So my title is the first thing I thought of, and not at all to do with the over all theme of the peice.
By the way, I lucked out and could not find my sheet late last night from ballet, but just barely made myself write my last journal enrty before going to bed, instead of waiting till tonight...and that was good because we had to hand them in for the first time!!!!
P.P.S It's now 7:58...I got my chorus shirt today...it's sooooo cool!!!!!!
Also...we have a tea w/ house alumnae soon!!!!!!!!
Sunday, October 16, 2005
Oh my...
Now they're singing other more real songs. (In my opinion.) It's really funny!! As they go down the stairs...herd of peoplepassed my door...it's past midnight people...like usually you'd think It's only ten, or nine...our quite hours start at eleven but are nonexistent on weekends.
It's been family weekend.
My parents came for the concert and will be back tomorrow.
I realized the other day that the time on this thing isn't off, it's just that it sticks at the time when I got into the page, so it should tell me how long I've been writting for, I think.
Some guy was playing our piano today...you could hear it all over the house...relaxing...he was really good!!!! Differents styles of music, loud, soft...it was wonderful to hear it...just the idea of melody drifting through the house!!!! (Of course I could hear it well because my room is over the livingroom.
Have to get back to work...the essay I just took a break from was due yesterday, then was due at four today and I need to turn it in and start working on other things for this class and other classes.
Have a good night, and please, someone else post something too...though if you're strssed don't worry about it...writing instead of doinin gmy home work, writting my thoughts out always helps me...but I was stressed all day...worked on this essay all day...
G'night, pleasant dreams.

Food
We talked...it was fun...now back to work...
Today so far...
Anyway...I'm thinking a break the fast with the girls I really like from Hillel will cheer me up , and doing some work too!! If I have HW a day with out food will go by faster!! I'll skip my dress rehersal and have a fun later dinner. I hate decisions...It's good I don't want to be an MD becuase I don't have the confidence ...in French class she always tells me to "repetez" because I'll too sure I'm wrong and won't speak up!
For some reason being hungery is making me feel better...I'm seeing my self control as I look around the room at all of the candy bars my room mate has out and realize if it were any rainy day when I'm alone in my room I'd be eating...knowing that Yom Kippur is temporarily stoping me from getting fat is making me happy!!! I missed the van to Amherst and ended up joining the girls who were going to a nearby reform service... The (female!!!!)Rabbi had a very beautiful voice, but of course they had a pioan which made it less Jewish in my eyes, and there was one of those stupid operatic soloists...ugly!!!(It's like how the voices on the Fiddler recordings detract from the beautiful music...plus they had too much english and not enough hebrew...and too much spoken hebrew...should ahve had more singing in hebrew on the traditional melodies...anyway...the building was cold!!!!! Don't know how much I got out of the service...though I remember the sermon.
Anyway... Shana Tova...(Happy New Year, or something like that)

Just Like Luann!!
Got to talk to Sarah for a little bit, though...(I hadn't talked to any of my friends in over a week.)
I didn't get any home work done...I thought to do easy stuff, than tryed a different tactic and went for most necessary...but the stupid essay needs a worthwhile thesis...thought about getting help...felt bad, didn't...I need to learn to do things on my own!! Joined the home work party in the living room!!! Carolyn (Who I haven't mentioned yet...she's one of many seniors...) was getting essay advice!
Am in need of food/sleep and will get more done tomorrow...see, that's what I told myself...but I felt bad about slacking off...so instead I didn't and wasted time anyway...well, I have more of an idea what I'll say, now I have to rewrite it...
They turned the heat on in my house yesterday...Livie and I decided to turn our heater on this evening, even though we're told by Evadnay it will sound like there are "goblins hammering in the walls, and I kid you not." Those are not her exact words, but it good!
I'm also upset that I have work and can't break the fast with the Amherst boys!!! I won't have time to go to Amherst twice in one day.
Also upset...missed Abby's beautiful voice, smile, and enthusiasm/body movement when singing- also missed my Hillel family, though I've only known them for a week. Also miss Shir Ha Harim and Jim, our almost rabbi (spiritual leader), and Andi, our almost canter (song leader when Jim's not singing)...both women have beautiful voices that you can hear the love in!!!!!!
I did not enjoy listening to the girl at Amherst...of couse she was better than hearing Rabbi Bruce all the time...he can sing, but he's a rabbi...and Johnathan, the orchestra director from my school sang K'ol Nidray...
Sleep well...Bonsoir...
Hot Jewish Guys...What More Could One Want?
As you might be able to guess I went to Amherst College for Yom Kippur.
I haven't written in a while.
I saw Sam, took Katie and went to the school...saw people there...
Went to see Laurel..saw Becca at the mall on the way north!!
Saw Laurel...had to ask myself what my life would have been like had I gotten into and gone to Middlebury. Could not help compairing the schools...they have pro and cons, both of them...luckily the things I love about my school outweigh the goodness of Middlebury, but that is partially because that's the best thing for me to think...I'm sure if I went to Middlebury I'd think it was better!
Very, very,very Laurel-sick.
Cured a bit by being with Katie and then hearing from Myles on the blogs....I'd really, really, really missed hearing from him.
Really just wanted to go to school with someone I love.
Must talk to Jess.
Lots of homework to do in between the depression, sleep deprivation, homework, homesickness, missing of friends, holiday celebrations, talks with people in my house, work at weaning myself off facebook, e-mail and blogs. That's one reason I haven't written...was a) at home and not in need of home connections, b) I was on Facebook instead c) I was trying to get work done and get out of my bad computer habit.
Called my mom and cried quickly before heading out to class this morning...mom's Luanne bi-polar cartoon she gave me is me exactly...
I keep feeling like I get settled in and then I realize that it will take the whole year before I stop crying all together...sorry if I'm depressing anyone whose having a depressed moment too...but...
I felt much better as soon as I got on my way to class/breakfast...just having the cold Fall air hit my face made me feel better...it is unbelievable how a mood can change that quickly!!!!!!!!!
Home work...
Speaking of that...I've got to go...
Saturday, October 08, 2005
I'm Home!
Oh yeah..and I got an A on my last French essay...which, by the way, was one that we were not going to be allowed to redo!!!!!!!And my quiz grade went up...from a C to a C+!!!!I'm making some pregress...and there were sections on it were I only got one thing wrong, and one point off!!!
I also got Sam's last ticket for Wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd given up ever seeing it any time soon!!!!
I also could see phantom again, of course!!!! It was over six years ago that we saw it on our sixth grade trip to NY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I feel sooooooo old.

Face Book
Oooo...this is exciting...TWO places in which to parler!!!!! (I know, that was a double "to".)
I got another part of Laurel's B. Day present today!!!
I also got a card in my mail box that I have a package, but it was after window hours, so I won't see if it was from Laurel until tomorrow...but it being my late day, I'll have the morning free to check it out!!!!!!
Livie told me today that exclamation points are not to be used in buisness letters, that better words were...I'm sad...I love excessive punctuation....
One frikin' night till I'm home!!!!!!!!!!!
(Wow, didn't realize I was so excited, or that when I do try to swear I can't!!!)
Ah well, being pathetic os sometimes fun!!!
Saw girls at outside campus center in their field hockey unniforms and holding sticks and was jealous.
Must do work...
Jess-I love the facebook photo...
Myles-Same to you...(Joking, I don't have one yet either)
Myles & Katie -Here's to D&D!!!
Sam-See you.
Laurel- See you (I hope)
Laurel & Jess- Hang in there! : )
I got more gifts this morning, of course I had to get Livie becuase today without contacts I could not figure out which of us the gifts were for.
May your dreams be bug free, and your beds warm and soft.
(How many variations on this can I come up with?)
Love to all...
G'night...
(Not that I"m about to go to bed any time soon...)

Only two more days...
Thank God, there are only two more, easy days until break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to go to D&D....and see Sam, and Myles...and go with Katie to see
I got a tea bag holder, a mug, hot chocolate, a card and bath oil/scent things in differnt cool shapes...as a rinosoarus, elephant, turtlebutterfly, pig, moon and cat? bear?...Yippeeeeeee
My wall looks soooo colorful, cheerful and pretty and un-Leah-like...with pictures!!!!!!!!
Livie's and my beds are pink, bright pink, orange, purple...so is one picture on the wall, and out pillows!!!!!!!!!1
Colorful...like a sun rise or set.
I'm missing 3.5 rehursals for chorus because of the High Holidays...and two because of break...and our concert is the weekend we come back!!!!!!!!
I really need to stop eating these jelly beans!!!!!!!!
I love you all so much!!!!!!
I'm much too happy for my own good!!
There are leaves on the ground that go "crunch"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love automn!!!!!!!!
May your bed be bug free...G'night!
The "K" is Cool!!!
We had a picknick of lqst night's left overs down by the boathouse by the pond.
Then seven of us girls took out three canoes and paddled ownstream a little and sang Hebrew a capella songs and we saw some other people down at the water doing Tash L'It (Spelling?) It was sooooooooooooo pretty:nature, the group of us girls, all in long blue and white skirts, fresh from services and lunch!!!!
We saw a Blue Heron...it was just sitting there!!!!
Then we went to the Kosher Kitchen and ate leftovers....cooking on the holiday would upset the kosherness of the kitchen....but we ate cream cheese on rasin challah, and chocolate almond milk (tastes kindof like Nutella-and it wqs there because there is a lot of soy dairy for when meat is eaten...but I'm still confused as to if there are two sets of silverware, and if they serve meat at all), and pears, apples, and sand cake from last friday....
They have two closets side by side:"Soy Closet"-which is partially a store room, and "Water Closet"-which is the bathroom!!-nd fish foam stickers were stuck around the trim ect.
It's a space governed by the students...they can leave stuff out, or on walls....unlike at the houses where because of fire regs nothing can be in the halls...
I'm enjoying the jelly beans fro my big sibs!!!
I feel like I have a whole other family from The K!!!!!-They are all upper classwomen....
I really have sooooo many big sisters it isn't funny.
I got play dough....but not play-do brand...and crayons and a big newspaper pad this morning...I keep trying to go to the bathroom in the mornings and almost step on stuff!!!!!!
At the moment I feel so loved...got e-mails from Katie and Ashley...was outside ignoring school for hours...e-mailed Frech proff that I had a holiday and wasn't going to do a bit of home work and she said it won't be collected till friday, so I'm good...but it's good to be sure that I'm set...
Still haven't done history reading....but don't have class till after break...only have library session tomorrow...
So I actually am in good shape...did very little in a lot of time at The K, but it was fun...you can eat and snack, and feel special...and have fun...we played the looking-at-toes-while-in-close- circle-and-screaming-game!!!!
On Paradise Pond...we didn't get off on the island...padled with Nora, who was one of the student leaders on the Pre-O!!!! WE've paddled together...and it waves....in worse, much worse conditions....we had smooth water and sun today!!!!!
It's a new year and I'm happy to be alive in it....
(Not that I wasn't happy to be alive in it on Saturday...)
Now I'm HAPPY, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

L'Shana Tova!
My big sisters left a card that says:"Stressed backwards is desserts" and jelly beans and chocolate outside my room today...they also said to drink orange juice...later at breakfast I discovered that the orange juice was out...I also didn't see the sign until some house mates pointed it out (they are upperclass women and know what's going on in the world of secret present giving)
-my big sisters plastered the juice machine in the dinninghall with a sign for me!!!!"Drink juice, get well, love your big sibs"!!!!!
Listening to "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" is making me happy!!!
Holiday dinner in Alumnae House was soooo good!!!
Plastered B. Day cards and photos ect on the wall near my desk...that made me happy to!
I like being happy...
Didn't do any reading for history, and didn't let it bother me...the teacher will never know...I finnally realized how to get my HW done, a bit late for being caught up...just read a little bit every night...it seems like a simple answer, so why did i just think of it?
I'm not really as smart as everyone thinks I am!!!!
I've heard that my French professor is the hardest in the department, which makes me feel good.
This much I can say that is really good...my favorite class is Latin...so so far my major has not changed..but i feel that I should take Greek or Hbrew, or both, though I suppose I could keep accumulating decrees forever and thus learn all that I want to!!!!
Have a happy night!!!!!
Love,
Leah
